== Overview ==

<blockquote>A short overgrown trail in the forest northwest of the city of Naphtali
takes you to this tiny orc village.  For years the village has remained
a scant league shy of the walls of the city, and typical of their kind,
the orcs have been the minor nuisance that they are expected to be,
forcing the city to fortify its walls and post guards.

You wonder why, with all the raids that the orcs have made upon
neighboring villages, they haven't been eradicated by their many
enemies... then the smell hits you.  Choking and gagging on the stench
in the air, you want to leave, and quickly.

You admonish yourself, "This isn't the way a hero is supposed to act!" -
but at the same time, you cannot fault those who found cleaner and less
smelly fields upon which to stake their fame.</blockquote>

In the village the temple of Ornias lies to the east, dedicated to the so named archdemon. The chieftain's nut stands to the north and the orc fort and barracks takes up the west side.

=== Notes ===

* The barracks has a large number of orc soldiers adorned in wood and leather armor, ideal for runecarving by druids.
* On the north side of the barracks an orc blacksmith has on hand a significant amount of iron ore
* The war room where the orc high command is on the west side of the barracks, having defensive spells active is highly recommended before entering this room as they are aggressive and can easily overwhelm
* In the mess hall on the southern side of the barracks an orc guard accompanies a captain. The guard is the dangerous enemy here as it has a ranged weapon which has the potential to deal lethal damage if it critically hits
* Next to the mess hall is an officer's barracks which contains a box of pelts that can be used for leathercrafting

== Trivia ==

The orc village is one of the oldest areas in the game with the lowest area ID (30) outside of Ralnoth city itself. It used to link to the Svirfneblin area which has since been moved to [[The Island of Archais]]
